You're checking if your setup can handle the latest titles. With an i5 2500K, HD6850 graphics card and 8GB RAM, GTA 5 should run smoothly at medium settings. For Farcry 4 and COD AW BF Hardline, expect good performance on high settings. If you want more options, consider games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2, which also fit well on your specs.

How will Far Cry 4 perform on my computer? Do I have to upgrade? Honestly, I don’t play those kinds of games much.

Traditionally the Far Cry line has focused on self-contained stories. Each title serves as a thematic follow-up, shifting to fresh locations, characters, and plots. From what I've observed so far, Far Cry 4 maintains that approach. You probably don't need to play FC3 unless you're curious. I think you can achieve decent gameplay in most entries at 1080p with your HD 6850, though an upgrade would be beneficial. Your current CPU setup is adequate for now.

Your CPU should last another few years, but you definitely need a new GPU. In the USA the R9 290 is now only $250 and will let those games run smoothly. Remember, your GPU isn’t nearly as strong as the one in a PS4.

Estimate suggests GTA5 runs smoothly at around 50-60 FPS. For a balanced experience, a mid-range GPU works well—something under $200 CAD should handle it without major strain.

Aim for around 30 frames per second at low settings in GTA5. If you're fortunate, prices under $200 CAD won't work. You'll need significantly more budget to play these games smoothly on high settings. The Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB WINDFORCE card is recommended for $299.99 and comes free with a $299.99 discount in Canada.

The R9 270 could handle GTA on high settings with smooth performance, but it might need a boost. The 500 Corsair BIOS should provide sufficient power for the build. Upgrading might be better if you want maximum stability.

R9 270? Haha. Everything's fine. Your PSU is good.

The NVIDIA equivalent card that can handle it on high/ultra settings is the RTX 4090 or similar high-end models.
