Hello, I moved into my campus dorm and need to join the WiFi by visiting a sign-in page. Some gadgets such as Google Home and smart TVs can’t connect because they don’t support signing in. There’s an Ethernet port available but it also needs you to log in when you plug it in. Do you have any suggestions on how to get these devices connected without entering credentials?

These gadgets don’t work with captive portals. You’ll need a separate router to enable this feature. Plug the router into your network and link the remaining devices to it. Always ask for consent before proceeding.

I saw a compact travel router a few months ago that claims to support captive portal logins directly on the device via its own browser. I haven’t used it myself, but it’s getting positive feedback for its lightweight design and integrated VPN feature.
