Need assistance with your Asus Prime Z390-P? Let me know what you require!
He recently acquired an Asus Prime Z390-P equipped with an i5 9600K processor, a Coolermaster Master Liquid 240L liquid cooler, and he experiences elevated temperatures during idle (50-65°C) under load. It seems the CPU was at risk of overheating, and the RGB lights are consistently off. For managing temperatures and controlling the RGB, consider downloading appropriate software such as HWMonitor or Core Temp to monitor temps, and tools like RGB Manager or ASUS BIOS settings for customization.
The temperature around 50-65°C under idle seems quite high for this CPU with the cooler in place. Verify the cooler is securely attached, ensure thermal paste is present (and remove the plastic sticker from the bottom of the waterblock), confirm the pump is operating, and check that the radiator fans are spinning with proper airflow. The RGB control tools you need vary by hardware; for Asus users, the Asus Aura Sync software is required.
Thank you for your help. The main issue was insufficient paste and a faulty pump. I asked him to replace the paste, adjust the BIOS settings, and modify the pump speed. Regarding the RGB, we couldn't locate any compatible software, so he accepted that. Thanks again!
