It depends on the stream; however, it seems likely you'd focus on the numerous improved boards with the updated bios I shared earlier.

That's the issue—the friend just paid for the components without checking if it was okay. I've highlighted several concerns I've raised about the parts he ordered so far.

Refund then. There shouldn't be a problem stopping the order in most places.

I believe the package arrived as the customer mentioned it was en route.

they wouldn't be the maker since they’d request the specific motherboard ID and confirm whether the latest BIOS is included. From what I know, it would be simpler to simply insert it into the 3rd generation and test—if it functions, you’re good; if not, you’ll know immediately.

if it has the sticker on the box, then its actually ready. the manufacturer having it on their website means nothing as its a Bios thing.

Consider reaching out to the producer and inquire further. The decision is yours.

Well, if it has this sticker then I honestly don't understand the purpose of this thread - I suppose it doesn't have the sticker and yes it's very likely they need a bios update then. At which point I'd ask why not get an actually fully compatible out of the box motherboard instead.

this motherboard has been released before and after the BIOS updates, similar to the T40 model that supports the third generation. they’d need to identify the exact board to pinpoint its release date and confirm whether it included the new BIOS. obtaining the ID on the board is challenging since it’s not present yet, just like contacting the retailer who may have already shipped it and forgotten details about the packaging.
