Need assistance with XMP?
I just assembled a new PC that previously struggled to start when I turned on XMP, showing a red DRAM indicator on the motherboard. After updating the BIOS, everything worked well for about two weeks until today when the system wouldn’t boot and the same DRAM light appeared again. I suspect the problem is related to XMP settings. Could you help improve stability with XMP? Your specs are: CPU Ryzen 9 7900X, RAM Vengeance DDR5 7200MHz, Motherboard B650 Aorus Elite, GPU Radeon RX 7800 XT.
The processor struggles with that rate. You'll need to turn off DOCP and adjust the RAM speed to about 6000 MHz. If that succeeds and remains steady, you can gradually increase the speed further.
This speed isn't ideal for your needs. The memory controller limits performance above 6000MT/s, making 7200MT/s slower than 6000CL30 in most cases. Try setting XMP parameters to 6000CL30 manually—this should resolve the issues and improve performance slightly.
