Need assistance with Windows Vista?
I truly hope you enjoy playing Halo 2. Since you don’t have a console and aren’t sure about purchasing one just for the game, you’ll need a virtual machine to run Windows as Halo 2 won’t work on your current OS. I can find a simple guide or walk you through the steps to set it up easily. Thanks!
I attempted all possible solutions, but the VM remains the only choice. Windows 8.1 atm.
Obtain a Vista ISO and launch VMware Player version 1. Choose the installer disc, choose your Vista ISO, and follow the steps: input product key and local credentials. Pick a location for the VHD file, set its size to allow multiple virtual disks. Complete the setup by clicking Finish. Begin the virtual machine and treat it like a regular computer. Success! You're welcome—let me know if you need further assistance.
Hyper-V should be included by default on W8, allowing you to use it as a virtual machine platform. You can create a new VM and adjust settings such as adding a virtual hard disk, configuring the network adapter, etc. For guidance, refer to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOegMFeeitw
No, I wouldn't suggest @ blu4 as a replacement for my response.
It's turned off by default on Windows 7 and 8 but can be activated. Using VMware is simpler and quicker on a regular computer. HyperV performs better on servers than desktops. I use VMware at home and HyperV for business servers.
