My younger sibling's PC is running extremely sluggishly. This problem occurred recently; it functioned perfectly yesterday. To start the machine, it now requires nearly an hour. Previously, it booted in just thirty seconds. During startup, the Windows logo appears slowly, taking a second to advance. After logging in, the mouse movement feels very delayed. This system was just assembled only a week prior, making it brand new.

Review startup requests. Examine the performance section in Task Manager to understand what processes are active. Look at System Logs in Event Viewer as well. Even a brand-new PC should undergo a S.M.A.R.T. health assessment on its hard drive to confirm it meets expectations. Startup entries appear in Task Manager. Open Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar. Access Event Viewer by clicking the Start button, then right-click it. Tools like CrystalDisk Info and HDD Guardian offer fast S.M.A.R.T. evaluations.

I'm having a problem with this too. I'm in the middle of nowhere, so I'm using satellite internet which gives me 500kbps. It's slow, making downloads take a long time.

Restart Windows with an in-place upgrade. Your files and programs remain intact. The process should take roughly half an hour.
