I just completed that, around 20 screws in, and I pulled it out. Now it’s slowly processing the information.

I attempted everything possible, then saved all my important data onto a USB drive (2.0 format). It took four hours, and now I’m doing a clean install. Lesson learned: Be cautious with antivirus software—especially Bitdefender. They just sent me a second bill today (first was 30, the new one is 80) from my account without my consent. What antivirus should I choose next to avoid this?

Hold the shift button and press the F8 key. If this doesn’t help, turn off the computer during startup. Then, Win8 should open the recovery console. Navigate to advanced options and initiate a system restore.
