Need assistance with Win32/Hadsruda!bit?
Windows security identified Win32/Hadsruda!bit as a trojan. Looking for a way to permanently eliminate it without it returning. Updated: After using Windows Defender, it still appeared. I ran another scan post-removal and found nothing. Before deleting, I checked Task Manager for unusual processes and saw none. I believe the issue stemmed from Project 64, which I hadn’t realized needed extra caution during installation.
Having a virus on your computer means the A/V tools can only eliminate it, not repair damaged system files. Sometimes Microsoft issues updates that fix the issue by replacing modified files, but this usually happens through Windows Update and is typically for serious cases. Your system might still be vulnerable to security weaknesses. I suggest using Windows System Restore to revert to a stable state before the infection (personal files should remain intact), or reinstalling Windows after scanning for malware so you don’t lose your data before fixing the problem.
I’m not confident it had enough time to act. I started it right after installing the emulator. Windows Defender confirmed everything was okay at the time. I didn’t notice any suspicious processes in Task Manager either, and I don’t have a backup point available.
Eventually, it might have been a preventive action by the A/V system to remove it before any damage occurred. That’s ideal. If there are no restore points available, you should either have turned it off or had them deleted or corrupted—viruses or malware sometimes do this as they become more common.
