I assembled my son’s computer a few weeks back using a spare TT 1050W power supply. I installed a new 3080ti and upgraded from a 750W to a 24-pin power setup. The change was necessary since the original 24-pin model was outdated. I replaced nearly every component except his 3060ti, 770GB SSD, and CPU fan. All Corsair memory modules, the Gigabyte B660 MORF Aorus Ax Pro board, the Intel 12400 processor, both Aorus fans, the Logitech wireless dongle, the brand new SteelSeries Apex 3 TK, and even the LEDs in the power supply were discarded. It felt like throwing $850 worth of parts away. How likely are manufacturers to assist me now? Thanks for any advice if you’ve dealt with something similar.

Only modifying the power supply unit without altering the cables means you don't qualify for a warranty claim.

Essentially nothing, regretfully. However, occasionally credit card benefits covered accidental damage. (P.S. I see a GMD-1)

If I say everything is clearly stated they perished on me, then after they examine the components, they’ll realize they were damaged. Absolutely

No guarantee offered. Issues are clear, and they’ll understand what happened. Being dishonest about a warranty isn’t a good trait, though I’m not here to pass judgment.

A huge error occurred, assuming all their power supplies shared the same 24 pins. My son was really upset, so I had to start over from scratch.
