Hi, I'm considering upgrading my daughter's PC but wondering if it's worth it or if upgrading her own would be better. Here are the specs:

My daughter's PC:
- Ryzen 3600
- FROG 270 8GB
- B450-A PRO MAX motherboard
- 16GB GD RAM (FA32OOC16D, 3200MHz)

My PC specs:
- 5800X3D
- 32GB
- MAG B550 TOMAHAWK
- 7900GHZ

Is it better to switch to 7800X3D/9800X3D or upgrade her current setup? Thanks for reading.

What activities does your daughter engage with her computer?
Are there any complaints she has about its performance?
What are the main components of her PC, and how old are they?

Thanks for the replay. She usually starts with Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, etc., and Fortnite and One Line games. She mentions Fortnight lags and says her PC was my old one, which was about 3/4 years ago. The power supply is a Corsair CX 600.

IMO would look at an update to a 5600 or better CPU and a modern graphics card, even on the low end.
edit- I have to assume you have a typo on the graphics card part of daughter's build. If it is a 2070 or so, go with the 5600 and a cooler. Put it on SSD/NVMe if not already.

yes, you want to be in 2070 and she got a 1gb fan Xiang M2. SSD generation 3 would require updating the BIOS to support 5600 in the board.

The 5X00X3D CPU would be preferable when it's accessible at a fair cost would be ideal.
