Consider upgrading if you decide to do so. For your setup, choose Intel or AMD based on the path. Your current board only has one M.2 slot and you’re running low on your 1TB NVMe SSD space. You might want to expand to a 2TB drive or upgrade the whole build. Your system was overpowered around late 2016, so you’ll need to assess what’s best for your needs.

The 6850k remains a great CPU with room for more RAM if needed. Just install a SATA SSD. Unless you're using it as a scratch disk for advanced tasks, the difference between an NVMe and SATA drive won't be noticeable.

I've been using gaming on the NVME a lot and I can see the impact on load times. I don't store much media there—just games, and they're taking up a lot of space.

Order a 860 EVO SATA storage device. During performance checks, the 660p performs better only under specific conditions—similar to copying a large file. Its efficiency remains comparable in random data retrieval, which is essentially how loading a game works.

Consider using a Sata SSD for storage. Transfer games you aren’t playing to the SSD to make space on the NVMe drive. It’s simple enough to bring them back if performance issues arise. Check out this engaging video—definitely worth watching.
