Hello! Your ISP uses VDSL2 for speeds like 50mbps/10mbps, but your modem only manages 8mbps upload while offering 80mbps download—limited by your plan. You’ve upgraded to a 4-wire telephony cable to improve signal quality and possibly cut down noise to the ISP servers (around 20dB). Also, you noted purchasing 25m of CAT6 Ethernet to replace the old powerline connection for better computer-to-modem performance. Most interference seems coming from the wire running from your house to the pole on the street. Should you switch to the new CAT6 Ethernet or keep the telephony cable? Also, since DSL uses just two wires, connecting with a second pair could help block some noise and reduce internal interference—especially if the wiring runs beyond 10m (about 15m in your case).

Use Ethernet to connect your home if feasible. These cables use twisted pairs for a reason. Ensure you find shielding in Cat6 or higher models. For Cat5e, check the product details for shielding information. Keep the ISP wiring untouched.

I need to modify the section inside the house since it’s too brief. The wires turned out corroded and were removed right away when I made contact. Additionally, the CAT 6 cable I purchased appears to lack shielding.

Also there is a box where the external wire connects with the internal. Should be straightforward and easy as I am not totally inexperienced
