I mentioned earlier using Speccy to find the current Windows key. Next, download the appropriate Windows ISO from the provided link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-.../windows10. Upgrade to Windows 10 on that SSHD using the downloaded ISO—no activation key is required during this step. You can either burn it onto a DVD or copy the ISO file to a USB drive for the upgrade. After completing the upgrade, you'll have Windows 10 installed. Navigate to Start—Settings—Update & Security—Activation. Ensure the option says "Windows Activated." Once upgraded, your key will be linked to your Microsoft account. Then remove the SSHD (trust me, do it) and proceed with a fresh installation on the SSD. During the OS installation, you'll be prompted for the key twice: once at installation and again when setting up profiles and preferences. I skipped both prompts and used a local account instead of a Microsoft account. After connecting the internet, the process didn't ask for the key; it retrieved it from the motherboard automatically.

You’ve already upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with your product key, so you can retrieve your SSHD and install a fresh Windows 10 on your SSD. Run the activation command (start > run > slui.exe 4) and decide whether to keep the original or clone it to the SSD using tools like Arconis True Image.

Yes, you could link your MS account directly and have the device sync automatically.
