Hello everyone, I plan to upgrade my Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 5800x3d soon, but I have some concerns about my current board's VRM capacity. I’m using an MSI B450 VDH PRO MAX, which is still my preferred setup. I wasn’t planning to purchase another board, so if that’s true, I’d opt for a newer Ryzen 7000 model instead of buying a new one now. I was also chatting with friends about this, and I just need to confirm if my board can support the processor for a short period. I mentioned I didn’t intend to buy another board, hoping it would last longer while I wait for a better one. I’m currently using 3000mhz CL16 RAM and noticed that 3600mhz CL16 units are quite affordable.

It seems your motherboard is compatible with many CPUs. For a detailed list, visit the manufacturer's support page: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-PR...upport#cpu

This VRM supports 5800x3D because it draws roughly comparable power to your existing 2600 unit.
