I possess a 1000x80+ gold power supply and a 7900 XTX motherboard. My PSU came with PCIe cables featuring two bits at the end. Should I use one cable and another half of a different cable? I've read warnings against using dual cables as it might cause problems. I'm worried about damaging my expensive GPU. I only have these specific PCIe (3) cables provided. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this and unsure if the pigtails from this PSU can work with my GPU. Could you suggest an alternative or a link where I might find compatible single connectors for my PSU? I want to avoid any compatibility issues that could harm my system.

This PSU is a reliable device. Using the pigtails is perfectly acceptable.

RM1000x offers capacity for 300W per cable. It’s a type-4 cable unit, allowing it to handle the 2x8pin to 12VHPWR connection, which means up to 600W through just two cables. Using daisy chained cables is fully acceptable, even with an RTX 4090 that needs all four 8-pin connections.

I dislike how Corsair has handled some of the most costly, dependable PSUs available. 2) The cables are designed for the pigtails and you can use them with confidence—it won’t affect your experience at all. 3) These cables differ from the latest power cables; they’re far more dependable and secure. Make sure they fit snugly during installation for best results.

You can connect two PCIe cables, yet only use one connector from each dual cable.

You can connect two PCIe cables but only use one connector from each dual cable. You don’t need three connectors.
