8500G is the problem. I've used two different setups and they're all the same. 750w Evga N1 PSU AsRock B850m Pro-A with WiFi motherboard, Patriot signature DDR5 4800 32GB (2x26), 2080 Zotac amp GPU, 750w highpower PSU AsRock B650m-C (also working), Corsair Vengeance 64GB RAM, and a little backstory. I built it cheaply for a friend. The first setup (giving him the 2080 free) had no issues. CPU red light was on, DRAM light green, VGA lights off. After unplugging everything and reseating the CPU, it still worked. I added RAM sticks one by one without the GPU or motherboard, and it remained consistent. I took apart my own machine too. The same thing happened. I think the CPU might be faulty and had to return it. The return came today with the same issue—CPU red light on. I tried without the GPU entirely, just CPU and motherboard, but it still failed. Could there be something I missed?

To clarify, you installed your own CPU for a friend and it functioned or didn’t work. Right now, there’s no post. My ideas are the motherboard requires a firmware update or something might be wrong with the RAM, possibly. You mentioned trying one in different slots and checking the manual—according to it, for two sticks it should be in A2 and B2, but only one should be in B2.

I utilized a motherboard from both an older and a brand new build. I haven’t switched CPUs except when the first one needed replacement. I followed the proper RAM setups with both the latest and my existing RAM (functioning correctly). I also tested a fresh PSU along with a new one and an older working PSU.

I spent roughly forty-five minutes, which is what I believe.

Checked that both motherboards were running the latest BIOS version to ensure compatibility with the newer CPU.
