I saved dolphin and attempted to get mario kart double dash from coolrom.com, but it infected my system with malware. Anyone know how to download ROMs safely without viruses? Since my computer is brand new, I don’t want any infections. After this, this might be an emulator discussion thread.

I've never encountered issues with coolrom... Just make sure to handle it yourself if you own the game. If you don't, then using it without permission is piracy and talking about this goes against the rules of the community.

According to @NeatSquidYT, Coolrom.com is a fairly secure platform. I’d suggest visiting it mainly to download games you already own. For personal use, I’d advise taking the games yourself, but there are only around 5 CD-R drives that support GameCube titles, and about 3 DVD-R models that can handle Wii and GameCube. Only one SATA model exists, which is hard to find, though the average cost is roughly $240 based on my research. The others range from about $100 to $200. So just be careful and don’t pirate.

You can try it on your own by following your own steps and decisions.

With homebrew on your Wii, you can extract ISO files using USB Loader GX. Install the app, insert a USB drive, and load the game you wish to rip. For details, visit the provided wiki page.

I also don’t want to steal, but does it really count if Nintendo stops making money from game cubes because they’ve been unavailable for around ten years?

I really don’t have a clear answer for you. If you’re looking to take it that way, proceed at your own risk—I can’t advise on what’s allowed or not. There are safer alternatives you could explore.

Avoid using the provided installer. Refrain from downloading it unless you're closely monitoring each step, as it altered my registry and created a mess. It was a major hassle to remove. Please locate the alternative download option and obtain the ZIP file.

This discussion was actually meant to stay open for more than a minute. Dude, while it might seem odd to the general community, if you can't admit you own the game, stop asking questions like this and avoid piracy. You'll get caught because others will find out you're trying to download games illegally. It's like asking where to get every Nintendo game for free online—it's similar to someone asking where they can download all their favorite games for free.
