I own a D-link DGS-1100-08 managed switch and am trying to connect to it. All attempts have failed—web interface and SmartConsole don’t respond. I’ve changed the IP addresses for Windows or the router to 10.90.90.1, but nothing works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is this switch brand new when it left the packaging? (No one has touched it before) I recommend contacting Netgear for help—it might not be worth it. If it has been used at all, even a refurbished one, then adhere to the steps in the manual to perform a factory reset.

I purchased it brand new some time ago... it performed its first time when I had to install it, though after several days of effort I managed to get it running, but now I can't access it again. I've tried using both methods to reset it.

I initially disabled DHCP and this was the first time. Now it's happening again after resetting.

You set up a device with a static IP that isn’t covered by the DHCP range provided by your network.

This advanced necromancy technique is intense, but I'm proceeding anyways because a) it's been frustrating me lately and b) searching for terms like "dhcp disabled" or "dhcp turns off" brought this discussion to the top three Google results. According to d-link, the switch doesn't automatically retain configurations in NVRAM, so power loss will return you to the default static IP (10.90.90.90). Additionally, certain PoE issues can initiate a factory reset. Use this only in unmanaged mode or stick to the 10.90.90.0 subnet for safety.
