Do you have any suggestions on how to install SweetFX on Windows 8.1? I've tried all the usual methods but nothing seems to work.

Did you disable the game's anti-aliasing feature? That often leads to issues. Additionally, it may not function properly with fraps open in certain titles, such as ACIV Black Flag, where loading sweetfx becomes unavailable.

I haven't attempted that yet, I'll try it soon and let you know if it helps. I don't rely on fraps; only afterburner occasionally.

Review the documentation more closely next time, as it likely references this point. The explanation is that SweetFX uses its own anti-aliasing, and none of its capabilities function without it.
