Hi everyone, I'm asking about connecting devices in my student accommodation. We only have five MAC addresses allowed, and the company uses Exosphere. I wonder if using a router like a Google router would let me exceed the limit and treat it as one device instead of five. Short answer: should I get a router to manage this better? Thanks!

One router must be present on each networked device. Verify with campus IT personnel regarding student permissions for personal networking equipment. Certain institutions restrict individual networking devices, potentially leading to disciplinary action.

They're fine with it since I attempted to use my modem-router, though I believe the modem side might have been the issue. They said it likely was. Thanks a lot!

Considering an all-data plan and a device that supports hotspot might be more practical.
