He passed me an old Dell machine a while back. Every time I attempt changes or downloads, it prompts for the admin password. I remember the password, but it’s frustrating because sometimes it blocks installations with “access denied.” Anyone have ideas on how to turn that off?

Use the admin credentials and configure your personal access as an administrator. It appears your current account is configured as a standard profile.
