Hi, I upgraded to Windows 10 using a Windows 8.1 professional license, and now I have Windows 10 Pro. I’m trying to get Office but the “Get Office” option only lists “Sway” and “Onenote,” which aren’t what I need. I want Excel, Word, etc., but when I download Office from the site and try to activate it with my W8.1 Pro key, it doesn’t work either. Could someone help me resolve this? I really need Microsoft Excel.

The AFAIK Office requires an alternative key. You'll need to purchase it.

You require a key for Office, not Windows, to enable activation.

The office isn't free, you know. It costs money. You can check it out at https://office.live.com/start/default.aspx

Windows 10 home is designed for personal use without advanced features, while Windows 10 Pro offers professional tools, enhanced security, and more performance for businesses.

Primarily technical solutions. Windows 10 Pro suits advanced users or small enterprises requiring features like built-in BitLocker, Hyper-V, legacy Internet Explorer support, and remote desktop capabilities. For typical users, this level of functionality is usually unnecessary and may not justify the additional cost.

Sure thing. The pro edition should include Office, and Hyper-V virtualization seems handy for my needs. Other features aren’t essential right now.
