Hey there! I’m planning to set up a private VPN on my home computer so my girlfriend can bypass college restrictions and blocked sites like Skype. I tried purchasing a VPN service, but it didn’t connect properly. Then I found a Reddit discussion suggesting Layer 7 filtering and cloaked ports might be involved. That made me think about hosting the VPN locally instead. After some searching, I’m still unsure but appreciate any advice or guides you can share. Both of us use Windows, though I’m open to trying Linux if it simplifies things. She also uses Onavo Protect on her iPad, which worked until recently—any tips would be great! Thanks in advance.
