Hello, I’m seeking some guidance on RAM. I currently have 8GB of Corsair Vengeance in a 2x4GB 2400MHz setup. I need 16GB, and I found another Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB 2400MHz kit for £30. Will that work? I’ve read mixed information online, so I’m unsure. My system has an i5 6600K and a Maximus Hero 8 motherboard—does that affect the decision? Should I purchase it or sell my existing RAM for a 16GB kit? Thanks!

Even if it is the same thing there is no guarantee that with all 4 dimm slots occupied it’ll be issue free. You really should try to find a 2 x 8GB kit if you can afford it.

It will work well. Running at stock speeds with modest settings should be okay.

You shouldn't run into problems at all. I used to run 3 sticks with 2x 1GB and a 2GB drive back then, regardless of brands, speeds, or timing. It never caused issues. However, it's always advised to use a kit since they ensure compatibility.

Absolutely, it should function properly. He refers to the sticks as 4GB units, like my current PC which uses 4x8GB and my server running at 2x16GB.
