Recorded in low light. But open the Device Manager and locate the "Display Adapters" entry. Right-click the Intel UHD Graphics device and choose "Disable." You should now be using the Windows basic display adapter, and you might be able to set the monitor resolution to 800x600. If it functions, make sure to re-enable the device.

I'm a bit concerned about using someone else's device, especially since it's a family member's laptop. However, I might still give it a shot.
