I have a Switch Pro controller connected to my Windows system. It appears Windows thinks it's an Xbox, and the button is mapped to a different function. The web browser game isn't working because I can't use Steam to remap it.

You can configure a universal input in the Steam settings under the controller labeled "desktop layout." Make sure it works for general use, not just navigation.

They mentioned steam is the top choice. You can also simply add your browser as a non-steam game if the desktop setup isn't ideal. Another idea is using a controller emulator and mapping your pro controllers inputs to it.

Steam settings under the controller should display a global layout applicable across all games, not limited to Steam titles. You can adjust this configuration to match your preferred setup on Chrome. This worked with Mc Java, allowing recognition even in non-Steam games.

It wouldn't work because the controller settings weren't verified. I just started Firefox via that method without confirming it.

Did Chrome ever shut down before? Also, look in Task Manager. You’ll see that Edge usually handles most background tasks. To restart it properly, you’ll need to terminate it or adjust the settings so it closes completely when you leave the app.
