I understand your frustration. Setting up old router configurations can be tricky, especially when you need a stable connection for gaming. Your Xbox should get top priority—make sure it’s connected directly to the router and consider using a wired Ethernet connection if possible. If your router is outdated, it might benefit from a firmware update or a replacement for better performance.

Could you please share the router's model number? That way I can check its specifications and confirm if it supports multiple devices simultaneously.

It’s a SageCom ADSL router model F@ST 1704n, likely supporting up to 50 devices. Currently handling only 13Mbps down and 1Mbps up feels very slow. I’m looking for guidance on what the numbers mean and how to configure it properly.

This router is really hard to find online—no manual, no help from Samsung or Sagecom. I had to think about how to locate its settings. Since you have an ADSL router, what download speed are you currently getting? If you upgraded since you first got it, you might be missing out. Because it’s an older model, consider switching to a newer one for better performance and security. For safety, check compatibility, speed, and easier control options. In the next part, I’ll explain each setting in detail—based on an Asus manual. This post took a long time to write, so please help me now.

Before you adjust QoS settings:
- Xbox MAC: Go to device info → DHCP or Xbox internet settings
- Subnet mask: Usually shown under your real IP (Internet Connection or Advanced setup)
- Traffic Class Name: Xbox
- Rule Order: Last Rule
- Status: Enable
- Class: LAN
- Ether Type: IP (0x800)
- Source MAC: Xbox MAC
- Mask: Your network’s subnet mask
- DSCP: EF(101110)
- Priority: 5

If something isn’t working or isn’t listed, take a screenshot of the available options.

I’m blessed to have this gift. Upgrading my router and package would be a priority—only a 25 Mbps upgrade seems possible. I’m unsure if a new router will work in my rural area, but I’m worried about the predator company that dominates small towns. They charge $50 a month for 13 down, which feels unfair.

It indicates the MAC address mask is "255.255.255.0," which is invalid. You're likely right about that.

255.255.255.0 serves as an IP mask, not a MAC address mask.

You should look for the MAC mask directly rather than relying on the IP address. The process involves checking network settings or using tools that display MAC addresses.
