Hi there
My Lenovo X240 is really solid—it's compact and lightweight. It comes with a Core i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, an SSD of 240GB, a green Dell WD Green, and an Intel HD 4400.
I’m considering selling it to a friend who wants it, but he prefers a used model that’s been tested by a technician before being sold to others. My current use is mostly playing Minecraft and Valorant, browsing my website with many tabs open, and using Telegram in the background while listening to PotPlayer.

I’ve discovered a few used laptops that might fit the bill:
- Dell Latitude 5480
- Dell Latitude 5490
- HP EliteBook 745 G6

All three are stock models, have been used before, and have been checked by sellers. Any better options? Should I really go with selling my X240 for a Latitude 5490? Thanks for your help—I’m a bit confused.

Hey there,
I think I'd go with the I7 7820h. While both models are quite similar, the i7 offers more cache and superior stock clocks. The base speed of the I7 is 2.9 GHz compared to the 1.9 GHz of the 8350u.
Other than that, they're almost identical. I7 definitely wins in this case.

wouldn't it drain the battery faster even without heavy use, and how about the temperature? do you think this laptop is worth it? i'm curious about the Dell Latitude model.

In terms of power consumption, it's not much. Intel employs Intel Speedstep to move cores into lower power modes when idle. Windows handles this quite well.

I own two Dell Latitude 7280 models. One runs with an I5 7300u and the other with an I5 8350u. Both are refurbished through Dell partners and each costs €300. They both feature 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD (M2). The first is my girlfriend's daily user, the second serves as my Plex server. I'm quite satisfied so far.

Keep in mind, these systems aren't intended for gaming. They should handle light games smoothly.

When thinking about screen resolution, the I5 7300u offers a 1080p display, while the stronger I5 8350u only supports 768p. Upgrading to 1080p panels would be a worthwhile investment.

Hi, the i5 8350u has a much lower base clock compared to the 7820h1, which is why I mentioned it. Both models have a 1080p screen. I discovered another option added to the first post—the HP EliteBook 745 G6. Please check the first post again and let me know your thoughts on that. Which one do you think is better? Are there any other recommendations you'd like to share?
