It means the P2000 remains effective for Plex transcoding as well.

It looks like you're confirming something about 4K and H265 encoding. Just to clarify, thanks for checking!

I see you're considering ASUS X570 ROG Crosshair V8 with Wi-Fi AM4 motherboards. It looks like a solid choice, especially if you're into Aura sync and the BIOS features. The pricing might be on the higher side, but it's worth checking availability before deciding. If you wait, other models could appear later.

Opt for a motherboard from a brand known for frequent BIOS updates over time. Avoid overly specialized options unless you're comfortable with the trade-offs. If you prefer, identify a model that’s simpler to downgrade its BIOS settings, keeping in mind how future security patches could impact performance. The complexity of managing updates becomes more manageable when you have reliable support and flexibility.

ASUS has a solid track record of timely updates, similar to the ROG CROSSHAIR VI/VII HERO, which refreshed just before New Year. I agree with your observation—it wasn’t something I had thought about. It seems likely they’ll continue supporting next-gen Ryzen for another 2-3 years, as this board is the only one capable of that.

The Crosshair VIII is the model you were focusing on, designed for those GPUs featuring X8, X8, and X4 configurations, including an integrated X1 slot.

Absolutely, it should work. PCI 4th Gen offers significantly more bandwidth, so your GPU should handle it without issues.

well most of those cards you listed don't support 4th gen, so that won't matter. That is a big limit of am4, with lanes. x4 should be fine, and its not like your getting the peak performance from this system anyways. Also what case? You need one that has anouther slot at the bottom. Also check how these boards handle iommu groups as thas can be fun at times.
