I bought Payday 2 and everything is running smoothly at full performance. Recently, while playing, the link from my computer to my monitor dropped, and the screen went dark. I could still hear the game in my ears but couldn’t see it. Could be an issue with either my graphics card or the monitor?

You haven’t attempted that since you’re new to computers. To exit the game silently, try pressing the escape key or using the 'q' key. If your keyboard isn’t responding, check for any error messages and ensure it’s connected properly. The light might be indicating a power issue—make sure the device is powered on and the display is functioning.

Check if the cable is connected. Remove it and reinsert it (the HDMI cable). Test it at each end.

I now believe it's not Payday but possibly related to the hardware since my monitor suddenly disconnected again.

In reality, the monitor seems more likely to be the issue. Test switching tabs in the game to return to your desktop. Run the PC in a non-gaming environment or play another game to check if the problem persists. If it occurs with another display, inspect the cable; otherwise, consider the connection as the probable cause.

It seems the issue might be with the GPU itself. When testing, connecting it directly to the TV worked, but using the motherboard connectors didn’t help. The setup through the MOBO still doesn’t utilize the GPU’s graphics properly.

Absolutely, the processing is handled on your GPU. Would you like me to display the output using VGA, DVI, or DisplayPort if the card supports it?
