Hello everyone, I’m facing a challenge with my newly built PC overheating. I saw this discussion in thread 13700k-overheating-problem and eventually sent it back. They suggested I changed the BIOS settings, but I didn’t make any adjustments—just reported the issue on the day I got the machine. Now they claim the problem is resolved and shared their explanation. Could anyone confirm if what they mentioned matches what’s shown in my original post? In my earlier thread, the power usage seemed low, so a sudden spike shouldn’t have caused such a high temperature quickly. They told me it’s related to the CPU power consumption and that the motherboard makers often set default limits (like 4095W) for processors. If these limits aren’t sufficient, they might use overclocking features (such as Asus Performance Enhancement 3.0) to push the CPU beyond its normal specs. Running it at the default settings can cause the processor to throttle to avoid overheating, which usually leads to a drop in speed and temperature. Their screenshots show the default BIOS configuration for the 13700K, but they also mention adjusting PL1 and PL2 for better stability. They also said I should replace the thermal paste and tweak the BIOS settings.

What are the specifications of this system? The heat from these chips is typical and within expected limits. Are there any other problems you're experiencing?

The details are listed below; they appear in another discussion. All participants on that thread mentioned a problem with the cooler. You're the first to confirm it's normal. The other parts are also included.

It might be a better idea to focus on the pump speed issue and figure out what fin you're using and the airflow rate. I'm guessing the mount works fine if re-applied without problems. The temperature readings don't seem like a major concern unless they impact other parts, but it won't make the cooler great. You might be able to skip this if everything stays within limits, but consider switching to an air cooler or returning it for improved performance.

The voltage shown in your screenshots likely reflects a specific condition, but it shouldn't necessarily mean the CPU is overheating. Their approach might involve reducing the voltage to improve stability or performance.
