Need assistance with overclocking your Intel Core 4690K?
I increased my Intel Core i5 4690k to 4.0Ghz and it performed well under high temperatures, stable at 95°C with 65°C and a voltage of 1.050V. When I attempted 4.2Ghz at 1.100V, the power draw approached the TDB limit.
When you increase the speed, you adjust it in small increments of 100 MHz. If it remains stable at 4.0 GHz, you raise it to 4.1 GHz without changing the voltage, but then it becomes unstable. At that point, you return to the BIOS and set the VCore to 0.025V higher.
