Hey everyone, I'm trying to adjust the BCLK value but it's causing issues. Right now it's set at 125, and when I tweak the multiplier and increase BCLK, the system crashes. I'm aiming for a higher BCLK like 200, 250, or 300, without changing the multiplier. I want to know how to set that in BIOS. Since my PC setup is fixed, what component should I modify? I have an Intel i9 10850K, Asus PRIME Z490-A, HyperX 2x8GB 3200Mhz, Be Quiet Loop 240mm, and Cooler Master M2 Silent Pro 1000W. I don't want to risk high frequencies or instability. What changes would help me achieve the desired settings?

You're attempting to push the BCLK too hard, which isn't a good approach. The proper method involves starting with the multiplier to achieve the highest possible frequency across all components, then using the BCLK to stabilize at around 50MHz. Any other adjustments are risky and not recommended.

I don’t like pushing things too hard. It seems unnecessary in 2022, and even I realize tweaking BCLK isn’t the right approach unless you’re dealing with a very specific situation.

Why are you aiming for this at all? Probably thinking about 5800X3D clock speeds. What’s your target or final outcome? Remember, computers vary a lot. This might actually harm your 10850K system.

Never interact with the base clock. It's best not to touch it at all. Here’s how I approach it: first, set up a benchmark like Cinebench and run it once at stock to establish a baseline. Record the score. Then adjust the BIOS settings slightly to increase the multiplier. Typically begin around 500MHz. Return to Cinebench and check for stability. If it crashes, note the issue and raise the voltage cautiously. Small adjustments of .025V are common. Higher voltage improves stability at that frequency but increases heat. Overclocking requires careful balancing—to push CPU performance without causing damage. That long explanation is worth about five minutes.

Bloody hell do you guys have no idea that this is cpu strap and not the actual bclk? If it was actual bclk then trying to go over 103 = rip system, and actual bclk is usually reffered to as pcie freq I guess bclk might help with cpu clocks for a given volt but that has only been proven on x79/99, though when der8auer was ocing a 12400 the volt did seem suspiciously low (1.3) for 5.24g on a trash bin cpu (131bclk), considering thats the kind of volt a 12900k needs for 5.3 p cores, not to mention the 12600 had lower bclk yet oced worse If you wanna f around with bclk then go ahead no issues unless you f with the real bclk (pcie freq), only real issue would be stabilizing rams

They've reduced the multipliers significantly. The problem isn't necessarily adjusting the BCLK, but rather their effort to push it to the maximum without any real justification.
