Need assistance with overclocking an i5 7600k?
I just completed my new PC build and have already pushed my i5 7600k to 4.7ghz at 1.245 volts. During stress tests on Prime 95, temperatures quickly climbed to around 84-89°C, whereas in Aida 64 they stayed below 60°C. Idle temps were 35°C. While gaming temps reached up to 55°C. I’m questioning whether to keep pushing the CPU due to the low temps in Aida 64 or to halt because of the higher readings in Prime 95.
What specific model is your PSU? I'm concerned about the 460w configuration with two GPUs and the high overclocking, which seems quite low.
TJ Hooker reviewed version 26.6 and recalled reading about AVX instructions that significantly increase CPU heat beyond normal operation levels. He plans to run the FFT tests and will follow up with results. Does benchmarking on Aida64 seem sufficient to you?
