I constructed this system in late 2022 and it would emit loud sounds while scrolling quickly with the mouse wheel. It stopped or fixed itself, but now it’s silent yet bothersome. I’ve tested all possible fixes. It wakes people up at night and I just need to turn off the noise. The sound matches what happens when pressing Windows keys in a specific sequence, but it repeats rapidly like Morse code. It only occurs during infinite scroll on the Logitech Hero 502 and not with slow click scrolling. Some suggest it’s due to low RAM, GPU speed issues, too many USB devices, or incompatible settings. Others mention problems with .NET or Windows desktop background. I recently reinstalled a .NET version from an old game, but I’m unsure if that’s the cause. I don’t have a clear solution yet. Is there a way to silence this beep so it doesn’t disturb others at night? Thanks for your help—I’d appreciate any advice to save time.

Is the sound coming from the mouse or the device itself? You noticed the mouse filling a buffer, yet the machine’s buffer can be made very large. The fix would involve increasing the buffer size and determining why it was initially too small.

The mouse scrolling wheel is triggering a beep through your speakers. The mouse functions properly, and disabling the "sc config beep start= disabled" didn't stop it. I attempted to tweak settings in Windows Mouse Settings and using the Logitech Ghub, but the issue persisted after the command was applied.

This shouldn't happen. The startup beep should only activate during startup. It suggests a major issue, but if it functions it does so effectively.

I recently encountered the same problem, and it became obvious what was going on for me. I just installed 'PC App Store' from VeryFast.io. I must admit, I installed it accidentally while rushing through other tasks, and I wasn’t paying attention. The issue started when I quickly scrolled up with the mouse wheel, which triggered beeps through my speakers and caused my mouse to lag significantly. Initially, removing one of their programs named 'Fast' helped, but that didn’t resolve everything. After uninstalling it, I found the actual PC App Store program, which looked like genuine Windows software, and removing it fixed the problem. This solution might not work for everyone, as similar issues can arise with other applications. Still, I hope this gives some relief to a few users, especially since this bug was really frustrating. If I hadn’t discovered it, I might have reinstalled my whole system to get it right.
