Only the 8 pin EPS is required. The additional 4 pin isn't needed. It's solely for heavy overclocking. 2. The first M.2 is Gen 4 and connects to the CPU, while the second is Gen 3 and links to the chipset. (B550 only provides Gen 3 lanes.) You're safe wiring it to the CPU if you do. If you put it in the second slot (chipset side), two SATA ports will be turned off (specifically 5/6).

I understand this. But what should you do? Where would you link the SSD? Also, aren’t both of them connected to the CPU? I didn’t catch that mention of them not being.

The first position is connected directly to the CPU, while the second is linked to the chipset.

Did you share the same discussion from earlier? A standard 8-pin EPS delivers around 384 watts, meaning even a heavily damaged 3700x won’t reach that level.

You're trying to figure out how to link the PCI cable with the four CPUs. You're also considering using a different power supply that has proper connectors. That's a good question about setup options.

The PCIe connector isn't functioning properly. You should use a 4-pin EPS connector from the power supply. However, it's not essential.

You'd require a replacement power supply with two 8-pin EPS ports. The PCIe connectors aren't compatible with the EPS connectors.
