Hello there, I’m just starting out with PC gaming and have finally assembled my first gaming setup. I managed the build pretty well, following a tutorial that took about an hour, but I might have some issues. My components include a 5600X with 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 1TB SSD, a Corsair Vengeance 5600X, and a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD. I also have a 3070 ROG Strix M.2 with MagSafe, a LN-Li O11 dynamic power supply, and RGB fans. I’m currently running a 1440p, 32-inch curved monitor at 165Hz.

I’m unsure about the typical temperature ranges for my CPU and GPU, but I’ve heard the 5600X can get warm. During idle, my CPU stays around 35-39°C, while it spikes to 45-65°C in games depending on the game and cooling setup. My GPU is around 36°C at idle and about 60°C during most games. I’m not sure if Fortnite is a heavy task for my rig, but my CPU temps reached 55-65°C last night—seems normal? I noticed my GPU clock is consistently around 1905MHz at idle, which is a bit high. I was expecting the 3070 to hit around 200 FPS for Fortnite, but I’m not sure if that’s realistic with overclocking or if it’s just a bit high.

I also saw high FPS numbers on Phasmophobia at high settings, but I’m not sure if that’s normal. My GPU clock is stable at 1000MHz, and I ran a benchmark that gave me a solid score. I downloaded the latest drivers for my motherboard and BIOS, and Windows 11 64-bit is installed.

I’m a bit worried about the GPU, especially since I got it from an open-box at Micro Center—it was sealed in an anti-static bag. I hope someone can share some advice and help me understand what’s going on. Thanks!

When temperatures remain below 70°F during typical activity, you're exceeding safe limits. Above 90°F poses significant concerns.

This benchmark seems typical for the 3070 Rogue Strix version.

The temperatures are excellent and background operations can sometimes influence performance. However, it looks like everything is working smoothly to me. Nice build!
