Final thought: Do you currently have an overclock enabled? If so, perhaps reset your BIOS (or do that anyway) and attempt the process again? If it doesn’t work, I’d consider reinstalling the entire system. Occasionally PCs behave oddly, so starting fresh can be beneficial.

Sure, I try this at least once every year. There are plenty of potential issues that could arise, and these details would really assist. Otherwise, it might be worth checking if your equipment is malfunctioning.

I'm currently performing a backup. I'm planning to try it out. It's not ideal thinking about having to redo everything, but I just set up a PC for a friend and the Windows installation was really tough.

Sure, that's the usual approach. I also don't like doing a full reset, though it often works. I wouldn't rely on backups, but aim for a clean installation whenever possible.
