Steam Guard doesn't ensure your account stays secure by itself. You need to verify your authentication email to access your details. Yes, someone should handle that process.

It's strange. I think I should watch my credit card site for odd charges. My kid's been gaming Fallout this morning as well... I wish his skills didn't suffer like the original poster.
