I opened the thread in the wrong section probably.
The issue is that I have a 27 1440p 144hz display and I need to downsample from a higher resolution at 60hz. My monitor only supports 60hz, and with an AMD GPU, VSR is restricting me to higher resolutions like 4K at 144hz.
I found a possible workaround by creating a custom resolution for downsampling, but I'm worried it might harm my monitor.
Anyone have suggestions or a better approach?

What monitor do you have and does it support freesync? It shouldn't be a problem if freesync is active because frames and the monitor stay in sync, no matter the refresh rate. You'll see whatever the GPU is rendering, which should feel smoother than trying to force a lower frame rate. If you really need to reduce your frame rate, consider using an FPS limiter in adrenaline while keeping it at 144Hz; it shouldn't affect the image quality. Alternatively, you can apply high-quality anti-aliasing or use the game's resolution scaling if possible. Vsr simply renders at a higher resolution and then downsamples it to the native size, which helps improve clarity but doesn't change the overall image quality.
Using VSR often results in a superior image compared to most other solutions, and based on my experience it also adds a pleasant touch to the game's performance.
I haven't used that number before. I think I should try making Freesync work since it should improve your experience. Are you using HDMI or DP? If you're using HDMI, try DP as the monitor comes with it. Make sure Freesync is enabled in the monitor settings.
It's linked through DP, but I just realized adaptive-sync isn't functioning in every game, particularly when trying to stabilize the frame rate. That happened with my GTX 1070 too, so it doesn't seem to be an AMD problem. I'm considering checking custom resolutions, and I hope someone finds one of my previous posts that could help me achieve the desired downsampled image.
Guess it could be game related but I've never had any issue with gsync and freesync should be the same.

It's not about the problem itself. I can achieve 60fps easily, but the game runs smoothly only at a 60hz refresh rate. That’s why I need to play it on a monitor with a 60hz refresh rate. It’s the optimal setup for smooth gameplay. I can run it at my monitor resolution of 1440p, but I’d like to downscale from 3200x1800. I just need a 3200x1800 resolution at 60hz that I can use for downscaling. There’s a method to do this, and I’m looking for someone to explain it clearly.
