I possess a 14900K, G.Skill DDR5-8000 16x2 package kit along with a Z790 Apex Encore. Current voltage settings are SA 1.275 VDD/VDDQ 1.45/1.45 TX Auto MC with underload readings at 1.4 and 1.385. I’ve managed stable operation for around 15 hours before errors appear in Karhu. Successfully runs all tests in TM5 every time. My plan is to adjust voltages to SA 1.28 VDD/VDDQ 1.46/1.46 TX Auto MC with underload at 1.415, hoping tighter timings improve stability. I’m concerned the current tRAS, tWCL, and tWRPRE settings may be limiting performance. Others might agree some optimizations are possible without major trade-offs. What are your thoughts? Should I stick with current settings and raise voltages, or adjust timing parameters? If changing, which would yield the best results and what performance impact to expect?

It seems likely the memory controller is acting unpredictably, a problem shared by both 13th and 14th generation systems. Temperature issues might also play a role, possibly requiring active cooling for full stability. If errors appeared suddenly in Karhu, timing rather than environmental factors probably caused it.

I can confirm it's unrelated to temperature. My readings never drop below 30°C.

I switch off the thermostat, then I open the balcony door and the temperature drops to 55 degrees inside.

Sure, that makes sense. Even at a typical room temperature of 68°F, the gaming environment drops it down to around 34°F.

The RAM operates at 34°C and the internal temperature is around 55°F. That’s quite cool for comfort.
