Check if the thumb drive has any hidden or system files that might be missing. Look for recent changes or updates that could have removed them. Ensure the drive has enough space and consider using a recovery tool to restore lost data. Critical files are important—act quickly to recover them before they're gone.

Open the View tab, select the "options" button, navigate to folder settings and pick "view". Then click "Show hidden files, folders, and drives; Hide empty drives; and Hide protected operating system files." Perform an antivirus scan since you might have a virus.

Corrupted data is present. It's unclear what steps to take for restoration. Consider using Recuva; however, if the files are critical, contact a recovery specialist immediately. (And be prepared to spend a significant amount of money.)

Correlation doesn't imply cause. No proof of a virus exists. File damage and bit degradation are natural occurrences. Check the source, okay?
