Need assistance with data erasure tools?
Good evening! I’m looking for a software solution that can securely erase data with three passes, generate a certificate, and do it entirely over a local network—so no hardware removal is needed. With 4,000 devices like notebooks, desktops, or AIOs, you’ll want something that handles large volumes efficiently. Blancco is too costly, and Active@Killdisk doesn’t support LAN wiping. Could anyone recommend alternatives? Thank you!
Blancco appears to be the optimal choice here. Although it comes at a higher cost, it's justified if you handle numerous machines regularly and require reliable erasure certificates. I’m not aware of any free software that generates such certificates, but if you already use one, you might run it via a PXE server for efficiency. This approach would eliminate the need to insert media or navigate boot settings each time. Here’s a guide using DBAN, though it doesn’t produce certificates: http://www.serenux.com/2014/05/howto-set...-pxe-boot/
