Hello everyone, I need some advice on upgrading my setup. I'm running a DayZ and Minecraft server on an old i7 3770 with 16GB RAM. I'm considering switching to a 3.9 model with more RAM, but due to limitations, I can only run one at a time. Should I upgrade the motherboard and add more RAM, or keep the current configuration? I also have two E5-2697 v4 CPUs; should I sell one or keep both? My idea is to replace the CPUs if they'll improve performance, but I'm not sure about the best approach for handling the workload. Your motherboard only allows 16GB RAM because it’s built with that capacity in mind.
You should check if your 2697v4 or 4790k supports it, and whether a higher-capacity board is available.
For the 4790k, confirm if you need more cores or faster memory.

Hi, the motherboard is just an Asus P8H61-MX R2.0 that supports up to 16GB RAM. I only have CPUs from an older system that got corrupted by BIOS issues, and I was thinking about getting a 4790K which offers better performance.
