You've already received the spinning balls, which means you're past all the loading steps. It's likely because something is damaged or your equipment doesn't match the original. Moving an installation from a PC to another isn't ideal, and with Windows 7 it was less reliable than with Windows 10.
Do you really understand my message? Here’s a simplified version of your advice:
6. If BSOD occurs, download the Paragon Adaptive Restore ISO and use Rufus to create a USB drive. Boot from that drive with only the Windows 7 partition connected and choose "Adjust OS." After a short wait, you should be able to start your old Windows installation.
7. If your motherboard is new, issues might arise with your mouse or keyboard. You may need a PS2 mouse and/or keyboard to install drivers after the first boot. Paragon Adaptive Restore works best with a PS2 device.
Hi @RobV1306, please verify the setup disc is present. Load it and enter BIOS settings. Adjust the boot sequence so the CD takes precedence, then save and exit. If asked, select a key to boot from the CD. Keep repeating until the system displays "install now." Avoid pressing install; instead, use "repair your computer." Open Command Prompt. Upon launching, run 'bootrec /fixmbr' and then 'bootrec /fixboot'. Then execute 'shutdown /r'. Return to BIOS, modify the boot order to point to the OS drive, save and exit. Your PC should be fixed. Thanks, TechQuicker. Also, please let me know if I overlooked anything.
Irrelevant. His performance is terrible (fix it). The main issue is the blue screen. I’ll provide a clear resolution.
Hey everyone, thanks for your messages. Apologies to @homeap5, I should have noticed you mentioned BSOD in your first comment. I was aiming to proceed carefully instead of risking damage. I plan to retrieve a USB drive and use the Paragon Adaptive Restore ISO. Fingers crossed it resolves the issue. I'll update you soon.
I made some headway. The Paragon program and Windows 7 are now running. But I’m still seeing a bunch of other warnings. I’ve included them here. One issue is missing drivers—especially for the onboard Ethernet and all my USB adapters—which means I can’t access the internet. That’s making things tougher since no drivers show up anywhere in the system, so plugging anything in won’t work. There’s also no optical drive present. The main concern seems to be Windows acting strangely. I’m not sure if it’s just the internet problem or these extra messages. Do you know anyone dealing with similar stuff? Thanks a lot, Rob.
