Hello, I'm experiencing significant FPS drops, usually every 20 seconds bringing the frame rate down to 20-30 FPS. I've already turned off the origin in the game and my drivers are the latest GTA5 version 350.12. Any input would be appreciated. This issue only occurs in BF3 and BF4. I can play GTA5, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and New Vegas with a lot of mods. Also, dying light. These are the games I've been playing recently and I seem to have problems. Only BF3 & BF4. I'm completely confused. I unparked my cores—I don't know if that helps with the CPU i5 4670K at 4.0 GHz (OC GENIE). Motherboard MSi Z87-G55, RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro (4x2) 8GB @ 1866MHz, GPU EVGA GTX 980 4GB, case NZXT H440 White Edition, storage WD blue 1TB / black 1TB, Samsung 840 EVO-Series 120GB PSU, Corsair 750M Watt, Display(s) Asus VG248 24" @ 144Hz.

This appears to be a recognized issue in the newest Nvidia driver; revisiting it should resolve the problem.

It could affect GTA 5 if you revert to older drivers. On the NVIDIA site or GeForce, look for previous driver versions that match your GPU model.

Here’s a rephrased version of your text:

The situation described seems to be based on indirect clues. Such dips often happen when the system swaps a significant portion of memory to video RAM, which can occur if you run out of space. I managed to play the original BF3 files without issues on my 1 GB card. After the new maps were released, I experienced stutters and drops. At that time, those maps were much bigger and used more textures, pushing me past my 1 GB limit. I had to reduce texture settings to avoid problems. The slight drop in CPU usage was due to brief delays while transferring texture data between memory types. On charts, this appears as a temporary decrease in GPU activity. However, this might not be relevant for you since your card has 4 GB of video memory. You should be able to run the game with full settings and still have extra space available. Are there any other programs or processes using a lot of video RAM that you’re running?

I found the previous drivers by checking the manufacturer's website or using a tool to reinstall them.

I wouldn't expect such a big change. Older drivers might cause GTA 5 to perform much worse than BF3/4 does with the current drivers. I'd continue searching for a fix.

I really didn’t want to hunt down the old drivers just to enjoy BF3 or 4… I’ve been playing GTA 5 on Steam lately, so I think I’ll keep looking.

Consider checking the local files in Steam for GTA 5. It might help identify any damaged textures causing issues with your graphics card.
