Hey there! I'm curious about how you can talk on TS3 while streaming without it showing up in the stream. It sounds like you're trying to keep your voice separate from the broadcast. Is there something specific you're trying to achieve with this setup?
I use OBS for broadcasting. I link my headphones via the rear IO ports, using the pink and green ones without recording gear—just basic streaming to Twitch. Game Capture works, and that’s enough. I’ve tried other approaches, but they felt too complex. I still need to chat on TS3, but I don’t want my teammates hearing themselves when they watch my stream. I’d like to eliminate this issue.
Adjust distinct push-to-talk controls in TS and OBS. For instance, assign Mouse Button 4 (forward) for TS3 communication and Mouse Button 5 (back) for OBS/Stream. This achieves the desired separation. To prevent TS from being audible in the stream, use separate output devices—such as connecting back and front jacks to different outputs or adding an external sound card. Then configure OBS to record only the game audio while routing TS to another device, ensuring it doesn’t capture the stream. This setup could involve speakers handling game sounds and headphones for TS communication.
To capture just your voice in the stream, using TS3 is straightforward. Configure TS3 for push-to-talk and activate it only during conversations with TS3. Assign a different key to silence the microphone in OBS each time you don’t need it. Removing audio from TS3 requires some effort but is achievable. You’ll need to adjust the virtual audio setup. I’ve used the VB-Audio Cable (http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm) for this purpose. Set TS3 to output through the cable input and make that your primary speaker device. Then switch your regular speakers to listen through that device. OBS can still use its default audio sources since you’re only disabling TS3.
