Hello everyone, I just completed constructing my new audio PC. Initially, I faced numerous problems, suspecting issues with the sample rate and audio quality at 4800khz. Eventually, I disconnected the audio interface and connected directly to the monitor via HDMI cable. Despite this change, DPCK spikes persist, confirming the problem isn’t with the monitor or software. This occurs even when no audio is playing, such as during YouTube playback. The setup includes an i7 12700K processor, ASUS Z690-F Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200 32GB NVMe M.2, a Crucial 2TB M.2 SATA SSD, and a 970GB SSD from an older Apple computer. The audio interface is Komplete Audio 6K running Windows 10. I applied process Lasso to move audiodgx.exe to cores 0,2,4,6,8 etc. with high priority, and NKi6.exe to the same cores at high priority.

Latest BIOS available at the provided link. Also, review firmwares listed under Firmware. PD mentions USB Power Delivery, which impacts USB devices.

The latest PD version is 0006, which has been updated. I'm checking again after the update to see if another spike occurs during idle testing for 10 minutes.

It seems the main problem isn't latency, but audio interface issues. Further testing is needed, though it looks like USB Power Delivery might be the cause. The driver should work now, even if the latest version wasn't installed despite using Armoury Crate.

Maybe I mentioned too much, but I’m still having issues. Now it’s taking longer than 5-6 seconds each time, around 20 or more.

For anyone facing this problem, the main issue lies in the poorly designed CPU scheduling in Task Manager. The efficiency cores on these new CPUs are being assigned audio tasks first, then performance cores, which leads to audio glitches. To run audio programs smoothly, you should disable the efficiency cores, making these CPUs less suitable for music production. Additionally, there’s limited documentation available about this concern.
