Hello everyone, here are my PC details. I have an Asus Strix H270I built with an Intel i5 7500 processor, 16GB RAM, a GTX 1060 graphics card, and 6GB of Corsair memory. The machine was assembled a few years back and has always had this problem. When I power it on after being off, it partially boots, the power indicator lights up, and the system appears to freeze—no HDD activity detected. After about 15 seconds and pressing the reset button, it boots normally. Recently I replaced the boot drive, but that didn’t fix the issue. I also tried connecting a spare PSU, which showed the same behavior. Could you suggest any BIOS adjustments or other tips to resolve this? Thanks ahead!

Be very cautious with this process. A mistake could make your device unusable. Follow each step precisely and carefully read the instructions. If you're unsure or feel uneasy, seek help from a professional. I won't be liable if it damages your hardware.

A straightforward cause might exist. Your PC enters hibernation or standby mode, and certain motherboards struggle to resume from that state. Turn off Windows' fast startup settings. I faced similar problems with those features. When they're set to turn on automatically, Windows won't fully power down but instead writes memory to your drive and restores it during the next boot. If this fails, it may freeze. Disabling it resolved both Windows update problems and your reported issues. Now my system performs a cold boot each time, which takes longer but is negligible with an SSD.

Connect as administrator and run powercfg -hibernate off to turn off hibernation and enable fast startup.

I turned off the quick boot feature and installed the newest BIOS update, but the problem still continues.
